Thanks go to Wyatt Avery, for organizing this list of County Directories...

Directories will list heads of house, with a concession and lot number, as well as whether they are a tenant or freeholder (owner). If they are a freeholder, you can look up land records for that lot via https://www.onland.ca/ui/ and be able to see when they bought and sold that property.

He states, "In my research, I have collected 12 Durham directories spanning the following years:"

High Speed Internet is available at the Branch Office, as well.

In 2001, Durham Region OGS Branch became an active contributor to the Ontario Genealogical Society Provincial Index Project (OGSPI), committed to transcribing the 1891 census of Durham and Ontario Counties; and also parts of Muskoka and York Region due to electoral boundaries.

Our branch collection of web links contains many web resources located in the Durham Region, as well as genealogical portals and short cuts to government sites.

A special set of web links has been developed by the Education Committee - for those Starting on the Internet.

Thank You for visiting - the Durham Region Branch OGS.
