We are located in Eastern part of the GTA, just an hour east of Toronto.  Our branch takes in the following eight municipalities: City of Pickering, Town of Whitby, City of Oshawa, Muncipality of Clarington, Town of Scugog, Town of Uxbridge, Town of Brock.

Our branch goal is to encourage, bring together and assist those interested in the pursuit of genealogy and family history in the Durham Region. Our members focus on preserving information that will be useful for anyone doing research on ancestors from the Durham Region. We also provide a sound base for researchers living here who have ancestors in other areas around the world.

Our executive is made of up volunteers, as are all the teams working on various branch projects. We are not professional genealogists who for a fee, search out your family tree.

The OGS is a registered charity and issues Canadian income tax receipts for all donations, including those received by Branches. We also welcome donations of family histories, books, maps and other genealogical items.

Joining the Durham Branch of the OGS is a good way to expand the scope of your genealogical research, as well as to meet people with similar interests.

Thank You for visiting - the Durham Region Branch OGS.
